The June Edition of Photochat is now up. Once again an interesting mix of articles from Ivan. This now includes coverage of this week's filming at The Wharf.
A report of the Society outing to Gracehill Moravian Village appears in the "News and Views" Section. An excellent report by Jane Wright on Ivan Strahan's talk at the AGM appears in the "Last Meeting" section. These both lie within the heading "About Us".
The AGM of the Society was held on Monday 22nd April. There are a number of changes made in the organisation of the club. Jane Wright has stepped down from Chairmanship and has been elected President. We thank Jane for all her hard work in the two years she has been at the helm. Shirley Cochrane was elected Chairman of the Society with Jean Roberts as Vice-Chair. Julie Maxwell beomes the new Secretary with Margaret Connell assisting Fred Finch as Assistant treasurer. Roberta Miskimmin becomes Membership Secretary. There are still vacancies for the role of Public Relations Officer and for committee members.
I would like to pay tribute to the work done by Ivan Strahan in that former role. He was responsible for the artistic posters which publicised our meetings round the town as well as reports in the local newspapers and on this website. He will be a hard act to follow. After the AGM he gave an interesting and witty talk on "The Fallen Women of Victorian Belfast". Once again he has managed to insert witty and interesting PhotoChat for May.
If you know of anyone who could be nominated for any of the vacancies please contact the committee.
The Donaghadee Methodist Church has published a history to mark its bicentenary in 2013. It is available from the Corner Shop and other outlets.
